For those running motion simulators indoors, the last thing you want is battery off-gassing while the system is charging. With our Capacitor Banks, you can eliminate batteries entirely.
Capacitor banks are designed to respond instantly to the high current spikes common in motion control systems while protecting your power supplies from stress and potential damage. They operate seamlessly with the Energy360.ca Main Board, which continuously monitors capacitor charge levels and manages the charging process for safe and reliable operation.
At startup, capacitors behave like a short circuit and can draw extremely high inrush currents. Without proper supervision, this can trip power supplies or damage system components. When using capacitor banks, a controlled charging system is essential to manage inrush current and ensure safe, stable startup.
Because we use high-quality capacitors, we offer two configuration options.
Option 1 – 66,000 µF:
This configuration is designed for budget-minded builders while still providing good performance. It offers a solid balance by absorbing short current spikes from the motors while sharing it with the power supply, helping maintain stable voltage during demanding motion events.
Price: $25
Option 2 – 198,000 µF:
For serious simulator users, this is the premium solution. With 198,000 µF of total capacitance, the system can absorb much larger current spikes generated by aggressive motion events. This significantly reduces stress on the power supplies, helping maintain stable voltage and extending the lifespan of both your power supplies and the overall simulator electronics.
